Memorial Day Weekend 2010

This year, Memorial Day weekend was spent down in Anahuac, Texas with the Fuson family. All but a few were able to make it out, and it was great to catch up with everyone! And by everyone, I mean our group is getting BIG! It was a fast trip, but so great to see all these faces that we don't get to see as often as we'd like! Bridgette got to meet her second cousins, and I got to talk to Ruth Anne to see just how crazy it will get with two :)

And, in the same weekend... we were able to stop at Vovo e Vovo's house for a quick visit. We were able to cool off in the pool, while Bridgette checked out the water.

Dog Days of Summer

It's official. It is only June 2nd, but it is just plain H-O-T outside! I guess I was still holding on to the thought of one more cool front, but that is definitely not happening! Weekend forecast already says it's getting into the 100's!??! Being 5 months pregnant (and feeling quite large I must add) + 100 degree weather does not mix too well - ha! Oh well, I better just get use to it and embrace the fact that summer is here and here to stay.

Last week Bridgette and I met up with Amy and Audrey for a little fun in the sun. The girls played in the baby pool while us moms tried to work on our tan. Hey, I've got to try something to hide these varicose veins that this little boy keeps giving me! (Thanks lil'bean :))

So, my plan for the summer is to: enjoy our stroller walks indoors at Northpark Mall and embrace the hot temperatures with pool days, swimsuits, and the sprinkler! (the dogs are going to love this) Oh yea, and try to remember to put my feet up :)

Bridgette Flies!

May 6th marked our 4th wedding anniversary. We have made a plan to go somewhere new every year. This year we chose CHICAGO! It wasn't the typical romantic getaway as they've been in the past, but we had a lot of fun traveling with our daughter and visiting Uncle Jared. Bridgette experienced her first airplane ride, and did pretty well considering she's 10 months and mobile! Highlight of that experience was her waving "bye-bye" to the passengers as we waited by gate check for her stroller. Jared showed us around the city, took us to some great restaurants, provided extra fleeces for me (it was a LOT colder than I planned!) and chauffeured us to and from the airport (thank you bro!). All in all, it was a great weekend getaway trip! Now the question is: how are we going to do this with TWO next year?? :)

They didn't let you take any pics inside, but the studio was my favorite part! VERY COOL!

Two weekends ago we were in Houston, and decided to take the girls out to the Houston Zoo. It turned out to be a beautiful day, and I think us parents had just as much fun as the girls! Except we still never did find that sno cone stand!? Here are some pictures of the animals... all of us! {Sorry for the picture overload... too many great ones to choose from!}

That's what Bridgette has been getting into during this 9th month! And I'm guessing it's not going to stop anytime soon!? She still isn't crawling, but who needs to crawl when you can {cruise} from furniture to furniture? Not Bridgette! Now she just needs to make her way to a wall, and she can use that to walk around the room! I found that out this morning when she was in the middle of the entryway with NO furniture, toy, etc to have gotten her there!? Here's a few shots of our little miss thang cruising around the house and discovering new things!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! We had lots of fun with family, friends, and neighbors. Saturday we had a little get together at our house to dye eggs {this was for the big kids}, enjoy the weather, and fire up the grill. After church on Sunday, my parents came back to the house for a nice brunch and Bridgette's first Easter basket. Pictures are better than words... so enjoy the images below :) There will be a part deux post once I get pictures from Adrienne's camera, so stay tuned!
