We survived!

Last week Bob was out of town for a conference in San Francisco, and it was just me and the kiddos from Tuesday morning through Sunday night! I'm not gonna lie, it was tough. But what doesn't kill you just makes you stronger, right!? I look back now and just laugh at some of the stressful moments {like the first night on my own - while I'm trying to get dinner ready Aiden has a blow-out in his swing as Bridgette falls off the couch head first!} Thank goodness for family and friends who helped out!! And for Bridgette and Aiden's smiling faces that made hard days a little more bearable! I tried staying busy with playgroups and activities, my mom was a HUGE help!, and my best friend Catt came in town for the weekend. Here was our week in pictures!

Bridgette was playing "peek-a-boo" with Aiden, and he loved it!

Bath time... Aiden is getting more into it

Catt let Aiden "play" in the sand... he loved the sand through his toes!

After doing makeup one morning...VERY pretty!
{I think Bridgette has a new bff!}

This boy loves to EAT!

It's funny how different one child can be from the other. We thought Bridgette was a good eater.... then we had Aiden! This boy LOVES to eat! Maybe it's a boy thing, but he's always hungry! And now that he's becoming mobile, I feel like he needs to eat all the time! We started rice cereal a couple weeks ago, and he had his first taste of bananas this weekend. {based on his expressions, I think he likes it!} Time to pull out my Beaba baby food maker :)

a {great} weekend at home!

This weekend was NICE! For once we didn't have anything planned, and we enjoyed every minute of it. We stayed around the house, enjoyed dinner with friends, walked to get coffee on Saturday morning, took a trip to the arboretum to take pictures (along with everyone else in Dallas), designed our tree house, and Bob and my dad built the kids a sandbox. And on Saturday night, we were able to get the kids down at the same time and actually watch a movie!? It was great to just be here, slow down a bit, and do things as a family. I think Bridgette and Aiden had fun too...

Spring Planting

Two weekends ago we had our first dose of some beautiful spring weather! We decided to tackle the yard, and boy did we tackle it! We spent 8 hours outside... pulling weeds, cleaning out the beds, potting plants, picking up after the dogs, and mowing the yard. Bob even built our first compost bin! Bridgette LOVED helping us in the backyard. She would take the empty plastic pots and move dirt around, rearrange plants, and rake in the yard. She was one busy bee! And Aiden enjoyed the fresh air from his exersaucer and the pack n'play. Now that the weather is getting nicer, we want to take advantage of our yard and let the kids run around. Our next project will be building the kids tree house - we are working on the plans now! :) Here's our little helper in action:

Lions and Tigers and Bears, OH MY!

Two weekends ago we went down to Houston to visit Vovo e Vovo and Uncle Cliff, Tia Nana, and Ava. (oh and little peanut on the way! next time we see them, we will have a new niece or nephew!!) Anyways, the weather cooperated with us and we spent Sunday morning at the ZOO! It was great seeing the girls reactions to all the animals! I think Bridgette's favorite were the lions {insert her cute little RAHHRR}

Aiden is 5 Months + Growing!

Where does the time go!?? Aiden turned 5 months on Monday, and he's growing like a weed! If I don't start writing some of this down, I'm going to forget when he started doing everything! (I'm slightly behind on his baby book... guess that's what happens with #2!) :)

So... here are just a few things our big boy is doing these days:
- rolling over front to back (no problem)
- scooting, inching, moving his way off the playmat... around his crib... just about anywhere he can
- grabbing objects/toys and moving them from one hand to the other
- standing up in his exersaucer and bouncing in his jumper
- takes his paci (and Bridgette's too) out of his mouth and puts it back in
- oh, have I mentioned he smiles A LOT!?? those big eyes and beautiful smile melt my heart every time!

We are so blessed with both of our beautiful, healthy babies! We love you kiddos!

Family in Town

Two weekends ago (yes, I'm behind) my Aunt Holly & Uncle Craig came in town with my cousins. The weather was beautiful and we ended up spending most of our time outside! Ahh, I'm so ready for spring! Anyways, we had 2 trips to the park/playground and Bridgette LOVED it! Here are all the great pictures we got over the weekend. Thanks Katy Crockers for coming to visit! :)
