Bridgette and Aiden finally went to the dentist! We were a little behind on taking Bridgette, a little early for Aiden.. split the difference and call it good, right? The dentist office was very bright, cheery and welcoming for our 2 little ones! Dr. Mitchell did a great job putting them at ease. Bridgette let Aiden go first (so sweet of her right? ha!) ... he was a little freaked out at first, but we made it through. Once he was off my lap he was running around the office collecting the pillow pets from all the chairs. Bridgette sat in Bob's lap and did a great job! Both got prizes on their way out, and Bridgette still talks about counting her teeth, flossing, etc. Oh yea... Aiden has a 13 teeth and Bridgette a whopping 20! Yay for healthy mouths!

Kids: Don't try this at Home!
Last weekend we got to have a couple days away with just us! Bob's company has an "Adios" weekend each year for their employees and spouses. The weekend is full of nice dinners, events, and relaxation. {read: no kids!} So we dropped the rug rats at my parents house and headed out of town. On Saturday we had a few activities that we could choose from .... and our choice this year was the "Canopy Tour + Ropes Course". Bob and I had never done one of these before, but it was a BLAST! It was more of a ropes course than anything, and included a climbing wall, zip line, and various "challenges" at 25 feet +/- in the air! It was definitely intimidating, but Bob and I got in our harnesses and attempted it all! It was 4 hours of a little scary and a lot of FUN! The pictures and video really describe the experience... enjoy!
and then our favorite one... and most intimidating...
Aiden-isms
Aiden is our bundle of joy, err BOY! He keeps us busy and keeps us laughing. He has such a sweet heart in a mischievous boys body. He loves to climb, rough-house, test Bridgette, play with anything she has, help feed the puppies, cuddle with stuffed animals (the more the better), and watch/read anything to do with animals. Aiden plays hard, and then sleeps like a baby! (at least I have one child that sleeps! ha!) He has one typical pose that he sleeps in, and Bob and I seem to take a picture every time... it's just too funny. His personality is best shown in pictures, so enjoy our little 19-month old in action!
ready to take on the world!

The Queen of Excuses
Lately Bridgette has been fighting her bedtime routine (as probably most 2.5yr olds do) but her "excuses" are getting much more creative. It's hard not to laugh at her when I'm trying to be stern about going to sleep! So, before I forget all of these... I thought I'd share a few. They all start with "but I ever not ...
... brushed my teeth."
... did xixi (pronounced she-she) in the potty."
... kissed you goodnight."
... gave you a hug."
... did a summersault." {my personal favorite}
... finished my strawberries."
... had my bedtime milk."
... had 2 more minutes."
... got my stamp from school."
... you never rocked me to sleep."
... you never sang me a song."
... but I need to tell you a question. Daddy, you need to take me fishing!"
... but I need to tell you a question. Daddy, you need to take me fishing!"
The list goes on... but that's a good selection for a typical night. And since we're on Bridgette and her phrases... here are a few more words that she's added to her vocabulary and uses quite often. Some of these are just funny coming out of an almost 3yr old!
word: ridiculous
context: me "Bridgette, look at all the markers that fell on the floor" B (kind of laughing) "I know that's ridiculous"
word: chic-y, hollywood, or linda (pretty in portuguese)
context: Aiden put on her sunglasses and she replied with "Aiden you're so chic-y!"
phrase: "No way Jose!"
phrase: after Aiden grabbed her sippy cup, "Aiden no, that's my beer" ummm...???
phrase: "Aiden pull my finger ... pull it real hard ... I need to do a pun-pun" (umm, thanks Daddy!)
word: no, no, no, no
context: this can be applied many ways, especially to Aiden, but my favorite is this sassy voice replied to a question like "Bridgette, will you help pick up your toys?" her reply, "Oh no, no, no, no, no"
I know I'm forgetting some good ones, but you get the just. Although she tests both Bob and I with her strong will on sleeping and sassy-ness, we absolutely adore this little child! Love you Bridgette!

Days 74 − 84
We have BRICK! ... and lots of other things inside too! The house is coming along quite fast now. We took my parents through a few weeks ago, and showed them all the progress that was going on inside. That same day they were also starting the brick on the outside. We absolutely love how the brick turned out... from the color, details, and herringbone pattern over Bridgette's room. Stay tuned... lots more to come. I'm trying to keep up with the blog as fast as the house is being built - ha! Enjoy :)

Happy Easter + Birthday to Alex!
This year we headed to Houston for the Easter weekend. We celebrated our nephew, Alex's {FIRST} birthday on Saturday... and enjoyed a beautiful morning and Easter egg hunt with family on Sunday. It was a very nice and relaxing weekend with Bob's parents... yet, we never feel like we have enough time!
