B is for Bike

My parents have been talking about getting a bike for Bridgette for her birthday for a while now. They've taken her to "test-drive", talked about color, size, etc. She's known it was coming and would always remind me that "Mimi and Poppa are getting me a bike for my birthday". Yes honey, we know... we even planned her birthday party around that theme! So... the week before her birthday came, and it was time to get her some wheels. Bridgette picked out a pink and purple heart bike, with a matching pink (of course) helmet to go with. (Size 5T because of her big head - hehe) ;) Here's our first night testing the bike! She's pretty comfortable on it, and she's getting better each time we go around the block.

Party with the Bloems!

A few weeks ago, we got to officially break in the house with all the Bloem's in town! That's right... Vovo e Vovo; Sandra, Cliff, Ava & Alex; Christina & her boyfriend Ayim; and Martha were all in town and we were able to sleep everyone HERE! This was one huge thing Bob and I wanted to be able to do when we had visitors in town. :) We had a great time celebrating birthdays, playing with cousins, bbq-ing, dancing (of course there's not a Bloem party unless there's a little dancing!), and a new one this time: hand stand contests! Keep scrolling... we have it all on camera! Thanks everyone for coming... it's so nice to have everyone together!

Suburban-ites

Well, I think it's official... we've turned into "suburbanites"! I'm not sure what our hesitation was or why we resisted for so long, but I'm glad we did it! We are totally loving Frisco, but more importantly our neighborhood. There is a great park (Bacchus Park) that is walking/biking distance to our house and we have a nice little neighborhood pool that we frequent often. A typical weekday morning (when it's not too hot!) involves me biking around the neighborhood with the kids in the bike trailer and then playing at one of the playgrounds. And then on the weekends, Bob and I take the kids to the pool to splash around and hang with new friends/neighbors. Here we are enjoying some sunshine...

We sure are loving our new place, but we definitely miss our old neighborhood and playdate friends! Luckily, we are still close enough for a morning playdate (although we get teased a bunch for living in "Oklahoma"). We had a great time playing in the new playroom with everyone, and getting to catch up! Thanks LH buddies for driving up to see us! :)

Home Sweet Home

After 4 1/2 months of living in an apartment, we are finally HOME! And boy does it feel good to call this new place "home". We have space to spread out, I have a new kitchen to cook in, Bob has a garage again, and we have a yard to play in! And the dogs are back with us - not sure who was happier... the kids to see the dogs, the dogs to see us, or my parents to have their house/yard back! ha! {thank you Mimi and Poppa for keeping our pups for that long!!} We are slowly unpacking boxes, setting up rooms, and finding places for everything. We could not be happier with our new home, and we are ready for visitors again! Here are pictures over the weekend of us enjoying the new space:

Happy 6 Years!

This past Sunday we celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary! My how times flies when you're having fun! And my how things change once you have a family. This year we went out to a breakfast date while my parents watched the kids... then we spent the rest of the day looking at furniture with kids in tow. And, how appropriate that the traditional "gift" material for 6 years is wood... we are building a house, and planted a tree the week of our anniversary! Love you Bobby! I sure have had fun building a family and life with you, and I'm excited for the years to come! - xoxo

Day 107: plants

Our house is looking a little greener today! Green as in plants that is! Yesterday we got our beautiful tree delivered and planted... and today was the installation of the front landscaping and grass. We now have 3 trees in the front, and 1 in the back! Oh how I love my trees :) In the front we have 2 Bald Cypress in the parkway and 1 very cool looking Bur Oak in the yard. It's amazing what a little green does to soften a space and bring it to life!
