A Trip to the Aquarium...

The kids had their first aquarium experience a few weekends ago, and loved it! Bridgette was already into "nemo", and now she's obsessed with "sharks"! We went to the aquarium at Fair Park... {it's small, but a great size for their first time}... and got to see fish, sea turtles, sharks, sting rays, etc. Bridgette and Aiden both loved the shark tank the best. Aiden didn't understand there was glass between him and the fish, and kept kicking the glass thinking he could just walk right in - ha!

Backyard Fun

Still catching up... here are some great pictures of the kids playing in the backyard the weekend after Bridgette's birthday. Obviously it was impromptu {as you can see there are no bathing suits} but they had so much fun!! You can hear the excitement through the smiles on their little faces ;)

Bridgette turns TWO!

Ok, now that it's about a month past... I'm {FINALLY} posting pictures of Bridgette's birthday party. There were too many to choose from, so I did a collage poster. As you will see, the party was a success! We had painting + marker tables set up in the back yard, the water table and baby pool were out, chalkboards on the fence, sand table, and of course the tree house. We are lucky enough to have lots of shade in the morning, so it wasn't too hot. The food was good, the company was good, and the weather was pleasant (for July that is). Bridgette had a very nice, full day - with no nap! And if you're wondering where Aiden is throughout the party - well, he slept through the WHOLE thing! ha! Oh well, it let Bridgette have full attention from all the grandparents ;) Enjoy the pictures!

Well, it's been about 2 weeks since we built the tree house and it's been a hit! We've hosted play dates, happy hours and dinners... and the backyard it working out quite nice! We already have ideas for more "additions" later... haha! But for now, we will enjoy the space with all who want to play... that is, before it gets too hot!

Let's Build a Tree House!

That's right... we finally did it, and it turned out AWESOME! Bob and I have been planning, designing, drawing {yes - I drew plans for this thing} for months now. We set the posts during the week prior so we could just jump in on building that Saturday morning. I think I am in love with it just as much as the kids! - ha! I have been waiting to have kids just so I could design a tree house :) The pictures are best at telling the story...and if you haven't seen this in person and want to play - come on over!
